[23:07] <LoOkOuT> hi everyone ....... the topic for tonights study is ... Using Time Wisely
[23:07] <LoOkOuT> KJv 1Cor 3:11-13 [23:07] <LoOkOuT> Kjv 1Cor 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than [23:07] <LoOkOuT> that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. [23:07] <LoOkOuT> Kjv 1Cor 3:12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; [23:08] <LoOkOuT>Kjv 1Cor 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: [23:08] <LoOkOuT> for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what [23:08] <LoOkOuT> sort it is. [23:08] <LoOkOuT> Everyone would agree that time is a most precious [23:08] <LoOkOuT> commodity. It is essential for developing skills, [23:08] <LoOkOuT> deepening relationships. and gaining experience- and no [23:08] <LoOkOuT> amount of money, possessions, or prestige can equal its [23:08] <LoOkOuT> value. [23:09] <LoOkOuT> .................... [23:09] <LoOkOuT> Think about this. You can't earn time or give it away. [23:09] <LoOkOuT> You can't shorten it for painful occations or extend it [23:09] <LoOkOuT> for joyous ones. And only God can add to or subtract [23:09] <LoOkOuT> from your days on earth. [23:10] <LoOkOuT> ............................ [23:10] <LoOkOuT> Kjv 2Kings 20:6 And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and [23:10] <LoOkOuT> I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the [23:10] <LoOkOuT> king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own [23:10] <LoOkOuT> sake, and for my servant David's sake. [23:10] <LoOkOuT> Kjv Psa 139:16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet [23:10] <LoOkOuT> being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were [23:10] <LoOkOuT> written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as [23:10] <LoOkOuT> yet there was none of them. [23:10] <LoOkOuT> ............................... [23:10] <LoOkOuT> So let me ask you : [23:10] <LoOkOuT> What are you doing with this priceless commodity? [23:11] <LoOkOuT> The apostle Paul urges us to recognize and act upon [23:11] <LoOkOuT> every opportunity God presents. [23:11] <LoOkOuT> Kjv Col 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, [23:11] <LoOkOuT> redeeming the time. [23:11] <LoOkOuT> The Lord wants us to make the most of our time -- to [23:11] <LoOkOuT> treat it like the valuable gift it is. Too often, believers [23:11] <LoOkOuT> spend their hours on endeavors which, in an eternal [23:11] <LoOkOuT> sense, are fruitless. [23:12] <LoOkOuT> But Jesus set the example for efficient time [23:12] <LoOkOuT> management. At the beginning and end of His incredibly [23:12] <LoOkOuT> hectic days, He retreated from the crowds and spent [23:12] <LoOkOuT> time in prayer with the Father. Christ knew prayer was [23:12] <LoOkOuT> the greatest timesaver in the world. [23:12] <LoOkOuT> ............................. [23:13] <LoOkOuT> God knows our schedule before it happens, and through [23:13] <LoOkOuT> prayer, He'll give wisdom and guidance for each day. [23:13] <LoOkOuT> Relying on our own efforts results in wasted time. Paul [23:13] <LoOkOuT> equates these efforts to wood, hay, and straw -- [23:13] <LoOkOuT> combustable objects that will burn up and amount to [23:13] <LoOkOuT> nothing. [23:13] <LoOkOuT> Kjv 1Cor 3:12 Now if any man build upon this foundation [23:13] <LoOkOuT> gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; [23:13] <LoOkOuT> Kjv 1Cor 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: [23:13] <LoOkOuT> for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed [23:13] <LoOkOuT> by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what [23:13] <LoOkOuT> sort it is. [23:14] <LoOkOuT> Kjv 1Cor 3:14 If any man's work abide which he hath built [23:14] <LoOkOuT> there upon, he shall receive a reward. [23:14] <LoOkOuT> Kjv 1Cor 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall [23:14] <LoOkOuT> suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by [23:14] <LoOkOuT> fire. [23:14] <LoOkOuT> .............. [23:15] <LoOkOuT> ** Focus on God and ask Him to point out any wasted [23:15] <LoOkOuT> effort in your life. He will help you make your time [23:15] <LoOkOuT> Count ! [23:15] <LoOkOuT> Kjv 1Cor 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, [23:15] <LoOkOuT> and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? [23:15] <LoOkOuT> Kjv 1Cor 3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall [23:15] <LoOkOuT> God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which [23:15] <LoOkOuT> temple ye are. [23:15] <LoOkOuT> Kjv 1Cor 3:18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man [23:15] <LoOkOuT> among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him [23:15] <LoOkOuT> become a fool, that he may be wise. [23:16] <LoOkOuT> Kjv 1Cor 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness [23:16] <LoOkOuT> with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their [23:16] <LoOkOuT> own craftiness. [23:16] <LoOkOuT> Kjv 1Cor 3:20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of [23:16] <LoOkOuT> the wise, that they are vain. [23:16] <LoOkOuT> Kjv 1Cor 3:21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all [23:16] <LoOkOuT> things are yours; [23:16] <LoOkOuT> What are our priorities ? [23:16] <LoOkOuT> What are you working for ? [23:16] <LoOkOuT> What takes up most of our time ? [23:16] <LoOkOuT> How much time have we given God this week ? [23:17] <LoOkOuT> ......................... [23:17] <LoOkOuT> Skill takes time to develop ... when we first start on a [23:17] <LoOkOuT> job we might be nervous and uncertain but once we [23:17] <LoOkOuT> keep working at it the more confident we become [23:17] <LoOkOuT> because we have practiced and developed the skills. [23:18] <LoOkOuT> We are in a battle , a spiritual battle , if we don't have [23:18] <LoOkOuT> the skills we cannot win ! So to gain skills and to be able [23:18] <LoOkOuT> to Fight the good fight of faith... [23:18] <LoOkOuT> Kjv 1Tim 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on [23:18] <LoOkOuT> eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast [23:18] <LoOkOuT> professed a good profession before many witnesses. [23:18] <LoOkOuT> ................................ [23:19] <LoOkOuT> To do this we need to get into the word , seek God and [23:19] <LoOkOuT> put God 1st in our lives , don't just throw him into a [23:19] <LoOkOuT> quick 1 min. prayer here or there ... [23:19] <LoOkOuT> We work to get wants ... but when this life is over where [23:19] <LoOkOuT> will those wants be ? [23:19] <LoOkOuT> They will be left here we came into the world with [23:19] <LoOkOuT> nothing and will leave with nothing so what profit is [23:19] <LoOkOuT> there for us ? We will profit to seek the Lord for our [23:19] <LoOkOuT> treasures are laid up in heaven so when we don't work [23:19] <LoOkOuT> toward that goal where will our treasure be ? [23:20] <LoOkOuT> I challenge you to set your clock to spend time with God [23:20] <LoOkOuT> seek [23:20] <LoOkOuT> 1) righteousness [23:20] <LoOkOuT> 2) godliness [23:20] <LoOkOuT> 3) faith [23:20] <LoOkOuT> 4) love [23:20] <LoOkOuT> 5) patience [23:20] <LoOkOuT> 6) meekness [23:20] <LoOkOuT> Kjv 1Tim 6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it [23:20] <LoOkOuT> is certain we can carry nothing out. [23:20] <LoOkOuT> Kjv 1Tim 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be [23:20] <LoOkOuT> therewith content. [23:20] <LoOkOuT> Kjv 1Tim 6:9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation [23:20] <LoOkOuT> and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, [23:20] <LoOkOuT> which drown men in destruction and perdition. [23:20] <LoOkOuT> Kjv 1Tim 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: [23:20] <LoOkOuT> which while some coveted after, they have erred from [23:20] <LoOkOuT> the faith, and pierced themselves through with many [23:20] <LoOkOuT> sorrows. [23:20] <LoOkOuT> Kjv 1Tim 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and [23:20] <LoOkOuT> follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, [23:20] <LoOkOuT> patience, meekness. [23:21] <LoOkOuT> As we go forth from now on .... How will you start to spend your time ? [23:21] <LoOkOuT> For me , I've thought this over and I want to spend more of my time with the Lord !
