<Tigre_blanc> Tonight's study is entitled "The Trinity in the Old testament <Tigre_blanc> In this study we're going to take a look at references to the trinity in the old testament
<Tigre_blanc> A lot of people think that the Trinity is just found in the new testament. However the trinity goes all the way back to the beginning of creation <Tigre_blanc> (John 1:1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. <Tigre_blanc> The word "Word" in John 1:1 in the original Greek was Logos which meant the spoken word <Tigre_blanc> (Genesis 1:1) In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. <Tigre_blanc> (Genesis 1:2) And the earth was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. <Tigre_blanc> (Genesis 1:3) And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. <Tigre_blanc> In Genesis 1:1-3 we see that there's God(the Father) and the Spirit of God (The Holy Spirit) and in the 3 verse it says God said (the Word) (Jesus) <Tigre_blanc> (Genesis 1:26) And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. <Tigre_blanc> When people read this verse they wonder who was God talking to <Tigre_blanc> The word God in Genesis 1 in the original Hebrew is Elohim which is plural meaning more then one <Tigre_blanc> (Daniel 3:24) Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spoke, and said unto his counselors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, <Tigre_blanc> True, O king. <Tigre_blanc> (Daniel 3:25) He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; <Tigre_blanc> and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. <Tigre_blanc> Here in daniel we see a reference to the Son of God (Jesus) <Tigre_blanc> (Job 33:4) The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life. <Tigre_blanc> Here we see a reference to The Spirit of God or the Holy Spirit We also see a reference to the Almighy (God) <Tigre_blanc> (Psalms 110:1) A Psalm of David. The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies <Tigre_blanc> thy footstool. <Tigre_blanc> Here we see another reference to Jesus <Tigre_blanc> (Judges 6:34) But the Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; <Tigre_blanc> and Abi-ezer was gathered after him. <Tigre_blanc> Here we see another reference to the Spirit of God or the Holy Spirit <Tigre_blanc> (Daniel 7:13) I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, <Tigre_blanc> and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. <Tigre_blanc> In this verse we see a reference to the Son of man and in the New Testament Jesus refers to himself as the Son of man (Matthew 16:13) <Tigre_blanc> There is also the phase the Ancient of days which refers to God <Tigre_blanc> The trinity exists all though the Bible from Genesis to Revelation
