Accountability

I was talking to my mother about her political beliefs - she is an avid obama supporter, and have come to the conclusion that we do agree on most things, like the economy. I have come to realize that as Christians we believe that we are held to a higher standard, and because we have the truth, we are required to do all we can (voteing) to forward the kingdom of God. Where we differ is who or what we feel we are accountable to. She is not a Christian and does not feel that we are accountable to God in such a way. She also feels that an unborn fetus is not a human being. I can understand where she is coming from in this sense - I would vote for what seemed right to me if I had no absolute in my life by which I must base my actions. If only we could all simply see that God is watching and that He holds us accountable for our actions - perhaps we would reconsider the way we live our lives and how we look at the world.
