Default Obama's Other Contender

As many Americans rally in support of Senator Barack Obama this year, several are incidentally rallying in opposition to founder of Focus on the Family’s co-founder and chairman, Dr. James Dobson, who has recently made this statement about the president hopeful, "I think he's deliberately distorting the traditional understanding of the Bible to fit his own worldview, his own confused theology,"

In response to Dobson’s reasoning, a petition http://www.jamesdobsondoesntspeakforme.com/#compare has been created in order to compare Obama and Dobson and collect signatures of people who support Obama’s understanding of the Bible, insisting that the Apostles Paul, and John, as well as scriptures in Psalm, Isaiah, Nehemiah, Micah, Matthew speak for them.

But instead, the site has actually collected hundreds of e-mails in support of the commitment that Dr. Dobson has made to Christ and families across the nation. Of course none of those statements have been published, including the one that I also communicated to the petition titled “Dobson Doesn’t Speak for Me”…

Dobson speaks for the truth as it should be tested by the word of God, and it is the word of God that speaks for me…

What speaks for me is David’s psalm, “Surely there is a God who judges the earth." Psalm 58:11

The prophet Isaiah speaks to me, “If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea” Isaiah 48:18

Jesus speaks to me in the book of Matthew, “For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,’ and will DECEIVE many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen…” Matthew 24

The apostle Paul speaks for me, “For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear” 2 Timothy 4:3

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will” Romans 12:2

The apostle John speaks to me “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome… because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world” 1 John 4:4

And Micah speaks for me as a reminder that our Lord Jesus plans to return, “But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me” Micah 7:7

Hallelujah!

With that, I encourage each of you to take a stand for truth and righteousness.

Obama needs a Kaine or a Crutch because he's losing this election. No VP will ever get him elected. He doesn't have an experience and he's one of if not the most stupid politicians to ever run for president.

McCain IS our new president.

Default Another Conservative Thinker Endorses Obama

Yesterday was shaping up to be another one of those Republicans-deserting-McCain days. For most thoughtful conservatives the cynical choice of a patently unqualified Sarah Palin was the straw that broke the camel's back. But for others it has been McCain's erratic and dishonorable behavior; it is now clear he would do anything to get into the White House, regardless of what damage he causes to America. Others just looked at his insane mortgage proposal or his catastrophic healthcare plan... and fled in horror.

Joining National Review colleague Chris Buckley, that right-wing publication's former editor and publisher, Wick Allison, wrote a scathing piece on the danger of electing McCain and why he's voting for Obama. Allison is now editor-in-chief of D Magazine. At the age of 16 he organized the Dallas County Youth for Goldwater and that's been his world ever since. "Today," he confesses, "it is so-called conservatives who are cemented to political programs when they clearly don’t work."

The Bush tax cuts—a solution for which there was no real problem and which he refused to end even when the nation went to war-- led to huge deficit spending and a $3 trillion growth in the federal debt. Facing this, John McCain pumps his “conservative” credentials by proposing even bigger tax cuts. Meanwhile, a movement that once fought for limited government has presided over the greatest growth of government in our history. That is not conservatism; it is profligacy using conservatism as a mask.

Today it is conservatives, not liberals, who talk with alarming bellicosity about making the world “safe for democracy.” It is John McCain who says America’s job is to “defeat evil,” a theological expansion of the nation’s mission that would make George Washington cough out his wooden teeth.

This kind of conservatism, which is not conservative at all, has produced financial mismanagement, the waste of human lives, the loss of moral authority, and the wreckage of our economy that McCain now threatens to make worse.

Barack Obama is not my ideal candidate for president. (In fact, I made the maximum donation to John McCain during the primaries, when there was still hope he might come to his senses.) But I now see that Obama is almost the ideal candidate for this moment in American history. I disagree with him on many issues. But those don’t matter as much as what Obama offers, which is a deeply conservative view of the world. Nobody can read Obama’s books (which, it is worth noting, he wrote himself) or listen to him speak without realizing that this is a thoughtful, pragmatic, and prudent man. It gives me comfort just to think that after eight years of George W. Bush we will have a president who has actually read the Federalist Papers.

Most important, Obama will be a realist. I doubt he will taunt Russia, as McCain has, at the very moment when our national interest requires it as an ally. The crucial distinction in my mind is that, unlike John McCain, I am convinced he will not impulsively take us into another war unless American national interests are directly threatened.

Well, Hitler made great speeches, but I for one support Sarah Palin because she is an accomplished woman with remarkable principles, and unwavering convictions; whether or not she manages a reputation of being a brilliant speaker. If, however, I wanted to get tingles up my leg, I’d probably prefer to be entertained by the guy who defends infanticide
(Barack Obama Takes a Subtle but Deadly Approach to Advocating Abortion)
associates with radicals who hate America (Hannity: Barack Obama & Friends: History of Radicalism The Real Barack Obama)
has allocated over 900 million $$$ to pork spending in his very brief time in the senate
(PolitiFact | McCain right on amount of Obama's pork requests)
and took enormous campaign contributions from Freddi, and Fannie (YouTube - Barack Obama & Friends Caused U.S. Economic Crisis)

Great leaders are not marked by idioms, but by their accomplishments, and great speakers don’t necessarily have the substance for which to be great leaders. Obama’s invigorating rhetoric about hope (hope that he does not extend to unwanted newborns) and our great nation (the fundamentals of which he aspires to “change”) is just not consistent with his legislative history. But enough about why I won’t contribute to Obama’s rise to power, what specifically has he done to earn YOUR endorsement?
